Abstract and Modern Colorful Cat

I bought this kit on a whim and painted it for a cat-loving friend who had just moved to a new home. I wasn't sure how she'd like it but she loved it! I bought it a few weeks before Christmas and worked on it a little bit at a time, and gave it to her for Christmas. I hadn't done paint by number since I was a kid, and wasn't confident in my skills, but the kit contained all the right tools and great instructions and tips, so I dove right in and was pretty pleased with the outcome.

My husband gave me these two kits as Christmas gifts. I hadn't done any paint-by-number kits for more than 6 months, so I was out of practice! Fortunately, the colorful cat picture was just the thing I needed to build my confidence! Painting is a great source of mindfulness for me. I'm not at a computer screen or talking on the phone when I paint; all I have to do is concentrate on the canvas, the paint, and my brush. Because it takes me away from my (sometimes stressful) job, I come away relaxed after painting. After finishing the cat painting, I went on to do the poppies painting. Unfortunately, many of the paint-pots were unable to be used because the paint had dried up so badly that there was no opportunity to revive them. I contacted Winnie's Picks and, after verifying the purchase, they sent a new set of paints to me. I LOVED painting the poppies canvas! Those big, bold flowers were a delight to paint. I took a few liberties in terms of blending some of the colors over the printed lines and I love the gradient effect! Everyone loves these, and I keep telling them that they're surprisingly easy to do!

Jo is my wife, I have already painted 2 Winnie's by this point and she went from marginally interested to staring at my picture after each painting session to see my progress.. She loves bright art and I felt this picture would be a good entry point.. Well I was correct.. she absolutely loved the process, its not too taxing and the result TBH is striking.... We all need our 'own quiet' time and this is a fantastic example of where health, well being and creativity collide...

I had so much fun painting this! I chose to do one color a day so it took me 15 days to complete, but it was very relaxing and I loved watching it come together more and more each day. I would highly recommend this project! Especially to someone who is looking for something easy to get started.

I started painting earlier this year and had put this particular kit aside to do as one of my next pieces. My thirteen-year-old daughter had been watching me work on a large painting for several weeks and asked if she could do one. I pulled this kit out and she began painting right away because everything is included! She spent two evenings painting and is extremely proud of her beautiful, colorful piece of art. I am happy that she had a good first experience and look forward to sharing this hobby with her as we find more delightful pieces to paint.

This kit came at a perfect time for me. I have depression, and my thinking has been really slowed down. Working on this painting was a great way to relax, just be in the moment, and focus without having to draw on a lot of mental resources. I have a tremor as a side effect of medication, but despite my shaky hands, and the fact that it's probably been 30 years since I last painted anything, the painting turned out really well. There was plenty of paint, so there was lots left for touchups at the end. I'll frame it and it will be a perfect gift for my cat-obsessed brother's baby girl.

This was my 1st painting and I loved it. It was very relaxing for me. It's not hard so do not be intimidated. I messed up some but it's my painting and it still looks good. It was a gift for my brother and he was amazed. He bought a frame and had it hung within a week. I recommend you try it. I'm going to be getting another one for sure. I may just have a "Nikki museum" in a few years, lol.

It's fantastic. It takes a lot of time to make it, but it will be perfect. I loved it and I will buy others.
